Conway County Court House in Morrilton, Arkansas

All the pictures in this section were taken May 20, 2006

This is the basement of the Court House.  Outside the door is where they would leave the news papers for us to deliver each morning.  The Court House was left open and we would set on the floor and roll our papers and deliver them.  I can remember on Sunday you had the large papers and I would half to make 2 or 3 trips, because I could not carry all the papers at once in my paper bags.

Another view of where we rolled our papers.  Back then the Court House was left unlocked and on one thought about anything happening to the building.

This is the South End of the Court House.  This is where they would drop off the newspapers for us to deliver on our bikes each morning.

Old picture of Morrilton High School taken from a picture in the Rail Road Museum.  I believe is was some kind of College or something before it became Morrilton High.

This is the Agriculture Building.  I was located no the Northwest corner of the school property.

This appears to be what is left of the Home Economics Building.  It was located south of the main High School Building.  The Band building was next to it but has been taken down.

South Ward Grade School.  It was located East of the High School.

Old picture of Morrilton that I took from the Rail Road Museum in Morrilton.

Old picture I took at the Rail Road Museum.

I took all of the pictures of Morrilton on Saturday 20 May, 2006.  The top floors of the old Bank Building appear to be unused at this time.  When I was growing up it was the tallest building in Morrilton.

There were 2 Movie Houses in Morrilton.  One was the Rialto and the other Petti Jean.  I would go to movies there and on Saturday I would attend a double feature and cartoons and go to the other and do the same thing some times.

This was the other Movie House, Petti Jean Theature around the corner and l block further North.

Main Street Morrilton, Arkansas

The white building in the center is where Eunice Cody's family had a resturant, Eunice married Guy Guiling, my oldest brother.

The red building in the center was the second movie house and the building to the right was the City Jail when I was young.  I am glad I never saw the inside of it.

This building in the center is the old Coke Cola plant and they have made it into the City Hall for Morrilton.

The Old Train Station has been turned into a Museum and Genealogy Center.

This is the first picture of the Morrilton High School reunion.  It included every grade from 56 back as far as it could go.

Second picture of the Lunch Meeting.  John Guiling is in the center of the picture looking toward the camera.  I went along with John on the trip and took these prictures.

John Guiling is standing on the right side of the picture.

The following pictures are blow up pictures of the Year Bood for the year of 1951, that is the year John Guiling was a Senion at Morrilton High School.

Hugh Jones was one of John Guiling's friend through High School.

The next four pictures were taken from Year Books in the Rail Road Museum.

May 19, 2007 my brother John and myself drove up to Morrilton, Arkansas to attend the High School Reunion.  I took my new camera and took about 117 pictures but when I returned home and put them on the computer they were out of focus and not very clear.  I do not know what happened, if I had a setting wrong or what, but the pictures did not come out clear (sorry about that) so I will wait until next year and try again.

Some of the Pictures are below but they are not real sharp.

If anyone would like for me to remove their picture, let me know and I will remove it.

Class of 1951

The Rialto Movie Theature was closed years ago.  It has now been remodeled and the seats in the Theature are out of the Old Morrilton High School.

The Rialto Theature is now used for the Community Arts Center for Concerts and Performing Arts.
